This is the rear bumper on my 1998 Montero Sport LS. While the MS is now sporting a 5 inch lift in the rear and a 3 inch lift in the front, the bumper is just too low for me. Not to mention, when offroading the bumper has a tendancy to be in the way. With the help of RockStomper in Firestone, CO. I transformed the rear end into a 4 wheeling monster. The new bumper is made with .120 wall DOM 2 inch tubular steel combined with .120 wall DOM 1 1/2 inch tubular steel. It was all welded together with a Mig. Fabricator and owner of RockStomper Scott says,"If I can break this bumper then I should be dead." The yellow paint was applied by Lowell Auto Body in Westminster, CO. Just a primer and a base coat were applied so I could occasionally touch it up as needed. Check out the photo page to see how installation went. And then visit Scott at www.rockstomper.com and let him know what you think. Heck while you are at it, order one!!! -Colorado Sport- All photos courtesy of ES 97Sport
